SABI Tea Arts is a space for experiencing and learning about chanoyu (Japanese tea tradition), kōdō (the Japanese Way of Incense) and related arts. The eight-mat tea room offers space for long-term formal study or simply as a contemplative setting for enjoying a bowl of tea as a one-time guest.

Our space also serves as a venue for workshops, presentations, and performances in a wide variety of Japanese arts fields for our partner non-profit organization, The Dōjin Japanese Arts Society. Dōjin Arts also presents tea- and incense-related programs at other venues throughout the Greater Vancouver area, including at UBC Nitobe Memorial Garden and the Nikkei National Museum and Cultural Centre in Burnaby. To be informed of Dōjin Arts programming, please visit their website and sign up for their free newsletter to get early access to their often very limited capacity programming.
