INTRODUCTION TO GUEST ETIQUETTE FOR TEA
Learn Basic Procedures and Expectations for Guests at a Japanese Tea Gathering

This series of three 2-hr classes will provide an introduction to the concept of what it means to be a guest at a traditional tea gathering. Through visual presentations and direct participation in three different tea presentations, this course will present a basic overview for those wishing to become more familiar with and more comfortable in the role of the guest in a traditional Japanese tea gathering. You will learn procedures specific to the Omotesenke tradition as well as more generalized background that will be useful when attending public tea presentations by any traditional Japanese school.
This course is not intended to replace conventional study of guest procedure, and is not for those who are already pursuing formal study with a teacher. On-going formal study is required for participation at formal gatherings.

Cancellation policy : We understand that life is full of unexpected circumstances and that plans change. However, due to the very limited space in these sessions, registration fees will only be refunded if notice of cancellation is received at least 7 days prior to the event. Processing fees may be applied for refunds issued for credit card purchases. Within 7 days of the program, refunds are only considered if we are able to fill the space.
